My name is Joel Ceballos, founder Spark Authors. I'm a Panamanian born entrepreneur with a passion for innovative technology; aspiring author from Brooklyn where I graduated from LIU with a B.A. in finance. A little over 2 years ago, I decided to spend some time writing and learning about self-publishing.
As the startup scene in NYC exploded from "silicon alley" to "DUMBO", my passion for solving problems using technology gave birth to Spark Authors. Researching the self-publishing industry has led to understand a growing issue faced by many authors deciding to pursue digital publishing. I realized, though self-publishing was a great opportunity for authors, expanding digital eBook libraries would decrease the chances of discoverability for first-time authors. As an aspiring author, I questioned how a first-time author would gain and then maintain a readership? Developing a solution for authors facing this growing challenge became a fulfilling passion of mine.
