At the age of 14, he went to work as a Jackaroo on a sheep station in northern Australia. After a few years, he joined the Royal Australian Navy, sometime after this Phil took on the role of Teacher Aide, assisting special needs children until recently. Now, he has returned to his first love, the love of writing.
In 1987, he was asked to write the documentary, Island Lights, the history of Tasmanian lighthouses, for TasTV. At the same time, Truckin’ Life magazine commissioned Phil to write a 12 part serial The Carters. less
